You could have an insane army if you use a bunch of broken companions to lead partys Edit: I didn't think of this before but then you could use them to lead your units so all the commander perks will buff up you guys

I know its been a month and im fairly sure the entire series is finished but... The reason you keep losing ashigaru to slavers ve the pirates... You keep sending them in unsupported vs shields...if the samurai were close by to contribute to melee youd have suffered so fewer casualties It even makes a bit of sense... The ashigaru being almost paired up with the samurai half and half like theyre a retainer for said samurai Also give the ashigaru some kind of jingasa equivelent goodness me... I know it doesnt matter but.... Is because you kept the ashigaru close to the samurai so the samurai contributed to melee And you whittled the enemy down more Goodness

I know I am late to this but "kill one in every ten of (a group of people, originally a mutinous Roman legion) as a punishment for the whole group." Romans used it as a punishment for retreating and it was used very rarely. Each solider had to draw a stone and the ones that where picked to be killed, were beaten to death by their squad mates.

necroposting but the reason questing knights use less “fancy” gear is for two reasons, 1: they are no longer knights of the realm (which is why they dont use lances) 2: they are expected to give up their worldy possessions to an heir, and as such wouldnt have the finances for more “refined” armor
